Quilts For Kids - Wisconsin

WELCOME:

Quilts For Kids Inc. is an international non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization where volunteer quilters create quilts for children in hospitals who have life threatening illnesses such as cancer and for children who have been abused.   The Wisconsin Chapter has donated to hospitals in Racine, Milwaukee and Marshfield to name just a few.

Many wonderful and very talented quilters have transformed fabric into beautiful quilts that bring joy and  comfort to children in a time when they need it most.  I don't pretend to understand how they work, but there is something about being wrapped in a homemade quilt that gives a sense of tranquility and support .

I have always belived this, so when I found an article about the Quilts for Kids organization in a quilting magazine, it just seemed to be a perfect fit for me.   I started the Wisconsin chapter in January 2010 and have enjoyed it very much.  There is a saying used on the main webpage that says:  "Fill the quilt with love!  It really does shine through",and I believe that very much.  Just take a look at our "Letters of regonition" page or visit the National webpage and see for yourself.

There are many ways you can voluntere to help.  You can send me an email requesting a quilt kit.  These kits contain the fabric (precut) for the top, fabric for the back and the pattern to make one quilt.  You can select a pattern from our patterns page, just tell me the name of the patter you choose or I will send one of my choice.  And there are other ways to help this cause:  Please see our "How Can I Help" page to get ideas on how to join in the fun.
